Many of you have heard about Bassing Bob and Fish Intel over the last dozen years. I helped Bob start the business years ago and consulted him each month for the last 12 plus years. Unfortunately, he passed away last summer, this was a sad time for the entire Lake of the Ozarks Fishing Community. The website had 1000's of members and 100's of loyal followers. This is a paid membership website where Fishing guides and tournament fishermen help the average fishermen. I was able to buy the business and restart everything. The only thing I was unable to do was the tournament trail. I have been concentrating on making the content better than ever, more educational videos, more in depth reports, and more information about all the species I target on the Lake of the Ozarks. Bob was all about Bass and I love bass too, but I spend a lot of time fishing for everything. Paddlefish season is fast approaching. Last year we caught more paddlefish than ever before, and I cannot wait until we're wrestling in another giant fish over the gunwale of the boat. If you're not familiar with Spoonbill/paddlefish, they are huge! We catch 30-40 pounders every day. To catch 70-80 pounders happens every year.
Crappie fishing in the winter is a ton of fun; most people wait for the warmer months and you're flat missing out. We caught like 40 crappie yesterday (in February) and many of them were shallow enough to be caught 2 ft below a bobber. It looks like the crappie population is doing great for 2026.
Bass fishing has been good too. Forward Facing Sonar continues to be a huge part of fishing success as technology evolves. My Garmin graphs work like spotlights under neath the water. I can see fish, throw my lure, watch the lure on the screen and entice the fish into biting. I'll show you how to do it also. Standing and being able to cast accurately is the big secret.
Me and my team are up dating www.LakeoftheOzarksFishIntel.com multiple times a week year round so check it out. It's revamped, more species, and not expensive to join. $60 get you the full membership and cheaper memberships are available.
