Cancelations outside of one week will be refunded a full deposit.  Weather cancelations such as high winds in excess of 30 mph will cause the trip to be postponed.  Storms before the trip starts will cause the trip to be delayed.  All day storms means the trip could possibly be canceled.  Usually bad storms last a while, but rarely do they last all day.  High winds are just as bad as a thunderstorm and can last all day.  Rainy or drizzly days do not cancel a trip.  Bring a rain jacket.  I have a couple extra jackets (size large) I can bring if asked.  Fishing in the rain can be really fun.

Referral from a past client:

Hi jack,

I wanted to take a moment today to thank you once again for a great day of fishing and to give you a referral.

Like many people we buy homes here at the lake for the beauty and relaxation along with all the great features of the water. But I was also one of those people who wanted to fish. I categorized myself as a novice when it came to fishing, I had been here for four years and always tried to fish but seldom had success. So I decided it was time to hire an expert to show me the ropes. It was great! Jack took me out and in minutes we were catching fish. Instead of calling Jack “captainwe should consider him as “coach”.

After my lesson with Jack I went on to catch more fish then I could imagine for the next two week.  For those of you interested in improving your skills I would highly recommend Jacks Guide service. Besides being a easy going guy and a wonderful host, Jack is just fun to fish with.

Corporate Trips Available

Corporate trips are for groups of clients or employees.  I organize other fishing guides from around the lake to take your group fishing.  It consists of two people plus a guide in every boat and is usually for a ½ day trip but can be as long as you like. These trips are a lot of fun because we usually have a competition for things such as big fish, best stringer and the ugly fish award.  I do charge a set up fee of $100 for multiple guides.  I can arrange for 4-10 boats (20 fisherman) and more if needed.  A good estimate of the number of fisherman is required 14 days prior to the event.  5 days prior the number has to be finalized with me so that I can hire the right guides.  For example lets assume your group has 16 fisherman confirmed.  The morning of the fishing trip only 14 show up.  You company will still have to pay for the full amount.

What I will bring

I will bring bottled waters, tackle, rods, reels, equipment, lures, kitchen sink, dynamite basically anything that will be needed.  I’ve got a big 21 foot Procraft  210SuperPro Bass Boat paired with a  225hp Mercury Optimax capable of handling the big waters of Lake of the Ozarks.  My boat has a built in cooler that will already have ice in it when I pick you up.  I have sun screen on board just ask for it.  A few minutes of preparation can save several days of discomfort especially on your vacation.

I’ll pick you up

If you are not staying at the Tan-Tar-A Resort we will talk and find a common meeting place. Often times it is an obvious spot like Wal-Mart, HyVee, Paul's Super market or a specific gas station. From there we put the boat in and it is time to fish.  Tan Tar A is a nice resort to stay at and I can pick you up at the marina which is very convenient for everyone. I will be waiting for you at the main marina dock in front of Windrose Restaurant, next to the Arrowhead Pool.  There are times when I can pick you up at your dock at your lake house.  This is a picture of the Tan-Tar-A's dock and  a picture of my boat.

We will meet at the designated location at a predetermined time.  I know the area well and if you can tell me where you are staying I can pick you up or tell you where a easy place is close to your location that we can meet.  Many customers save my cell phone number into your phone now so they will have it in case they need it later.  We will then go fishing, then we will go catching.  I encourage catch and release for bass and large catfish.  All other species are fair game for the frying pan.  I carry a fish cleaning table, and knives.  The first 30 minutes of fish cleaning is included in the price of your trip.  More than 30 minutes of fish cleaning a tip is appreciated.  Families will be glad to hear Lake of the Ozarks has several marinas and bathrooms on the lake. Most of those are closed in the off season, so let me know and we can talk about our options.  For other questions email me at jack@fishinglakeoftheozarks.com or call me (573) 434-2570.
